A Trend Analysis of Jihadist Terrorism in Europe 2017-2018.

In recent years, the jihadist environment in Europe has expanded mainly due to the conflict in Syria and in Iraq. One consequence has been a considerably increased terrorist threat against several European countries. In 2015 and 2016 there were 14 attacks and 29 well-documented attack plots motivated by jihadist ideology in Europe.

The terror threat from jihadist extremism in Europe is at a very high level and on the rise (Europol, and others). In the coming two years we can therefore expect a continued wave of terror plots in Europe.
